Eliminate Income taxes for all people reporting less than $50,000 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI).
Rationale: Currently about half of the people who file income tax - about 75 Million - have an AGI of less than $50,000. The total contribution of their portion to the overall income for the Federal Government is about $45 Billion. This is less than 3% of the income for the Federal Government from personal income tax of $1.7 Trillion. As we have passed spending bills of over 5 Trillion dollars in the last year, $45 Billion feels like a rounding error. If we need to recover this $45 Billion, then tax the top 10% of tax filers - about 15 Million - an extra $3000.
